I was delighted to have my work – Yes, but where are you really from? – chosen for MK Calling 2024, pictured above at Milton Keynes Gallery (credit Rob Harris).
It was selected by curators from The Middle Eastern Cultural Group, who wanted to explore the experience of growing up between cultures. The group were inspired by artworks and creative writing exploring the Third Culture experience.

A reaction to the times, where UK politicians and media openly describe migrants and refugees as “swarms”, “waves” and an “invasion”, Yes, but where are you really from? is part of a series of vibrant flags representing a people not defined or restricted by place, origins or borders. “We are waves of the same sea”.
