Party For Your Right To Fight Screenprint
How inspiring is it to see young people such as Marcus Rashford and Greta Thunberg take on social and environmental injustices in such a positive and unflinching way? It reminded me of the phrase ‘Party For Your Right To Fight’. Because we should celebrate the right to push back.
Hip hop legends Public Enemy first came up with it, a play on words of the Beastie Boys’ (You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party). The phrase came full circle when the Beasties returned the compliment, using its on another of their tracks, Make Some Noise. And now I’ve sampled it in print. Yeeeeah boyeeee.
